Installation:
- Installed the OS as previously. Installation again took approximately two hours, though most of that was unattended.
Here we go...:
- Added the machine to the local domain. Rebooted OK.
- Switched the Start Menu to 'Classic' mode. Rebooted OK.
- Installed the SQL Server 2000 Client Tools. Rebooted OK.
- Autorun would not run from the network, so the files were copied to the local machine.
- Autorun would not run from the local machine, so setupsql.exe was run manually.
- Patched SQL 2000 to Service Pack 3a. Rebooted to Black Screen.
- Attempted Last Known Good boot. - No success.
- Attempted Safe Mode bood. - No success.
And that will be the last installation I attempt of this OS until I speak with Microsoft about this. An installation that lasts about 24 hours, max, doesn't make testing very easy.
