Microsoft Office 12

Sammich has a beta of Microsoft Office 12. I got to check out Word today.

Now it takes quite a bit to impress me. I was throughly impressed by Word's new 'ribbon' interface. The old dropdown menues are replaced with tabs. It rocks. I was blown away by the ribbon. It's just so cool.

The idea is to help joe average user turn into a power user. It's just so easy.

I also played in Visio. I made up my own little server room. It was so fun, and so wrong.

Then I played in Powerpoint. More 'ribbon' action in Powerpoint. I whipped up a powerpoint presentation in no time.

Never thought I would be so impressed by a Microsoft prodeuct.

The new IE has been quite interesting to mess with since it dropped the other day. Almost has me thinking about coming back from Firefox. Someone has already called it IEOperafox.

I've gotten to play with it a little bit. I'd like to see mouse gestures, though. There a big part of how I surf now.
