Now THATS security!

While testing a secured environment app, I noticed something strange. The idea is that the app wrapps all traffic for an application in an SSL layer so that the traffic is encrypted. Not bad, in theory.

There were SSH apps listed in the SSL tunnel gateway. SSH, over SSL. Now THATS secure.

Anyway, finished my doco for the backup implementation and strategy. Now if anybody asks me, "Why aren't you backing this stuff up?" I can say, "I am. You just didn't put it in the right place."

Also, downloaded hello, just to check it out. I figured I could post screen shots. Turns out it doesn't support proxy servers just yet, so I'm out of luck in using it from work. I can, however, connect from home and do it, if need be.

I'm thinking of cleaning up my laptop a bit and moving some things around. I may go back to using my laptop as my primary workstation again, for both home and work use. I will, however, set up some sort of system at home for personal stuff. Don't want to too much non-work-related junk cluttering up the laptop. Just enough to make the admins annoyed. I should be doing more work type stuff at home anyway. Developing myself a bit more. Of course, I'll need to wait until a few other current projects are done, but we will see what happens after that.

Speaking of which, since LearnFlow cleared up last week, I haven't logged in once. I have another class tomorrow morning to go over the new security stuff, then I will probably be doing some more web dev in the afternoon. I should try to get the class in sometime in the early morning. Might mean a delay in blog entries, but we'll see.

All in a day's work, I suppose.
