Had a friend who was trying to register SQL servers in Enterprise Manager. He was getting the error "Encryption Not Supported" when trying to do so. This was for any server he tried to register. A quick Google search turned up KB article 316799. So, the obvious solution was to turn off "Force Protocol Encryption" in the client network util on his machine.
Now what I don't understand was, why didn't they specify to turn the "Force Encryption" off at the client, rather than on at the server. I'd rather change one client, than have to change the server. Sheesh. Lot less work that way.
